In order to encourage parallel development, you can set permissions per folder in the SourceSafe Administrative server. Run the SourceSafe Admin system. Choose Tools|Rights by Projects from the menu. Figure 8.8 shows what the Project Rights dialog box looks like. You should notice that your name is the only user other than Guest per project. You can assign Read, Change, Add, and Delete/Destroy access to each project. However, non-owners should not have any of these rights; when your deliverables are available, non-owners can have Read access rights only. Non-owners need not have Add, Change, or Delete access. |
